GRADE 4 NEWS
FIRST TERM 2011
The year has kicked off with a bang and as we approach the end of our first term we would like to give you some feedback on the year thus far.
We have 16 lovely pupils in Grade 4 this year. Everyone has been working hard and enjoying their time at Yellowwoods.
Here’s a look at what we’ve done so far:
1. MATHEMATI CS: - Working with whole numbers
- Understanding your calculator
- Working with time
- Understanding subtraction and addition
Our class has written two large cycle tests and we are happy to say that everyone achieved satisfying results.
2. ENGLISH:
- We have handled a significant amount of grammar work and do reading activities often.
- Our oral topic this term was: Influential Leaders of our time.
We have written a large cycle test as well as spelling tests three times per week and make journal entries twice a week.
3. SCIENCE: - Safety around us
- Planting and growing
- Caring for my environment
- Energy all around
4. SOCIAL STUDIES: - Finding out about the world
- Follow my leader
On the 17th of March we celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and we all dressed up in green!

The 18th of March was Grandparents day and our class recited poems for all our Grandparents at Yellowwoods!
